Ephraim Dowek

Ephraim Dowek (* 1930 in Cairo , Egypt ) is an Israeli diplomat.

Dowek was born in Egypt . In 1949 he emigrated to Israel. After serving in the Jerusalem City Council , Dowek moved to the Foreign Ministry's diplomatic service. During his career there he represented Israel in the 1980s at the United Nations in Geneva and was Ambassador to Egypt from 1990 to 1992 . In 1992 he became the first Israeli ambassador to India .
