Epitaph - Death is the answer (Original title: Epitaph ) is an Argentine thriller - Mini - television series . At first only one season of 13 episodes was produced, but later a second season was produced with the same number of episodes.

The psychopath Bruno Costas seeks revenge on those responsible for a misfortune five years earlier that a confused chemistry teacher was taken hostage and four students were killed. The psychiatrist Dr. Laura Santini tried to persuade him to give up, while police officer Renzo Marquez tried to overpower the perpetrator, but failed in this attempt. The hostages were burned alive. Marquez then quit the service and became a taxi driver. However, the past catches up with him and Santini again when the mutilated corpse of the chemistry teacher was found and further empty graves for Márquez and Santini in his garden. To save their lives and convict the killer, they both have to engage in a perfidious game of cat and mouse with the killer.
Remarks
The series is subtitled El final está escrito ... ( The end is written ... ). The series was shot in Buenos Aires and the surrounding area, but the location remains unnamed in the series and can take place almost anywhere in South America. The series is the first co-production of a television series by the US television station HBO and HBO Latin America . Another co-producer is the Argentine film company Pol-Ka . All of the cast were from Argentina, but the series was shot in neutral Spanish so it could be marketed across Latin America.
The series was sold to many other countries outside of the original market. It ran in 2007 in Australia, in 2008 in Poland and in 2009 under the title Epitafios - Death is the answer on the cable channel FOX Channel . In April 2009, the second season started in Latin America. The German premiere of the new episodes has been on FOX since July 2011.
The title of the series alludes to epitaphs - in this form the killer sends out information about impending victims.
