Villanueva Cosse

Villanueva Cosse , full name Villanueva Félix Cosse Vega , (born November 9, 1933 in Melo ) is a Uruguayan actor , theater director and writer .

Life

Cosse, who has lived in Argentina since 1971, successfully completed his training at the El Galpón School in Montevideo in 1955 . He then deepened this from 1960 to 1963 at the Escuela Municipal de Arte Dramático (EMAD) and from 1966 to 1967 at the Paris "École Internationale de Théâtre" (also: "École Jacques Lecoq") by Jacques Lecoq .

Since 1956 he has appeared in more than 60 plays in Uruguay and Argentina and more than 20 television plays. In 1963, 1972, 1985 and 1996 he directed eleven plays at El Galpón , Teatro Circular , Teatro del Centro , Club de Teatro and Comedia Nacional in Montevideo. While Argentina and Uruguay had dictatorial regimes, from 1974 to 1982 he was banned from artistic activity in both Montevideo and Buenos Aires. Cosse is also the author of the musical "Quién le teme a Lucila Singer?", Which was performed at the Teatro Embassy . He also wrote the "Feria del miedo, del amor y de la guerra" presented at the Teatro San Martín and, together with Adriana Genta, "Compañero del alma". As an actor and director, he has taken part in tours and international festivals in Buenos Aires, Zurich, Caracas, Montevideo, New York, Mexico City, San Juan de Puerto Rico, Milan and Stockholm. In 1999, for example, he staged "The Splendor of the Bohème" by Ramón del Valle Inclán at the Teatro General San Martín . Other examples of his work as an actor are his participation in the Argentine film The King's Film (La película del rey) (1986), the Argentine-Czechoslovak co-production Los Amores de Kafka (1988) and the impersonation of Marcos Márquez in the TV Series "Epitafios - Death is the Answer" from 2004. In 2011 he is on stage in Buenos Aires at the Theater San Martín in "Viaje de un largo día hacia la noche" by Eugene O'Neill .
