He is the right sun of joy is an Advent song, the text of which is taken from the third, second and fifth stanzas of the song Power up the door by Georg Weissel . The melody was composed in 1955 by Paul Ernst Ruppel as a three-part canon . The first of the three melody lines quotes the fifth melody line from Power up the door , the second follows it in parallel with thirds .
In the Evangelical Hymn book , the canon for power up the door can be found under No. 2. The rights are held by the Singende Gemeinde publishing house , Wuppertal.

sun of joy, brings with him nothing but joy and joy.

2. He brings all our distress to an end,
therefore shouts, sings with joy:
