Earthquake in Xichang area of ​​Sichuan 814

The earthquake in the area of Xichang in Sichuan 814 occurred on April 6 of the year 814 during the period of the Tang Dynasty in the area of Xichang in the province of Sichuan , China. The Jiu Tangshu reports in its 37th chapter (juan) of over 100 dead, also the Xin Tangshu , chap. 35.

Due to the damage caused, it could be estimated that the quake in the epicenter reached the strength of IX on the Mercalli scale . Calculations based on this resulted in a magnitude of 7.
