Earthquake between Yuanping and Dai in Shanxi 512

The earthquake between Yuanping and Dai in Shanxi 512 occurred on May 23 of the year 512 during the time of the Northern Wei Dynasty between Yuanping and Dai in Shanxi Province , China. The Weishu reports in its 112th chapter (juan) of 5310 dead and 2722 injured.

Based on the damage it caused, it was possible to estimate that the quake in the epicenter reached the strength of X on the Mercalli scale . Calculations based on this gave a magnitude of 7.5.
