The case height is 8.1 to 12.5 mm and the case diameter 11.8 to 18.5 mm. The housing is almost conical, robust and imperforate. There are six turns. The sculpture, which is missing on the protoconch, consists of very fine, twisted spiral strips. There is a thick, distinct, spiral-shaped callus on the umbilical edge of the peristome . The edge of the case mouth is not turned over. The case base is shiny. The color of the case is dark brown with a broad yellowish-brown band below the periphery. The antennae, head, body and tip of the tail are black. The base of the foot is white.

status

Erepta stylodon has been in the IUCN Red List in the " critically endangered " category since 1996 . The species is extremely rare and has always been referred to as rare in the literature. The French naturalist Jean-Pierre Sylvestre de Grateloup noted in 1841:

"Moka district and Vallée des Prètres, in less humid places, under rocks, not often."

Arthur Morelet wrote in 1860:

"Moka district, under rocks, on the inland side of Le Pouce, in a relatively small area."

In 1958, the Mauritius Institute undertook the last live specimen collection in the Bambou Ranges. The last site where there are still living specimens is a 10 hectare area on Montagne Brise Fer. One of the main threats comes from the poison Brodifacoum , which is used to combat rodents .
