The Fratnikbach is a brook in the municipality of Virgen ( Lienz district ). It rises in the area of the Fratnikalm and flows southeast of Mitteldorf into the Isel .

The Fratnikbach rises in the area of the Fratnikalm in the south of the municipality of Virger. It is fed by several source streams that arise on the slopes between Legerle , Zupalkogel , Melspitze , Deferegger Höhe and Oberstkogel . The Fratnikbach flows from the source in a northerly direction through the alpine pastures of the Innerbachlealm, the Lahntaleralm and the Blodnalm. North of the Blodnalm, the banks of the Fratnikbach are continuously forested, with the stream flowing through a forest gorge in the lower reaches. To the east of the Fratnikbach lies the Mitteldorfer Wald, to the west of the Nolzer Wald. The Fratnikbach finally enters the Virgental shortly before it flows into the river and flows into the Isel between Virgen and Mitteldorf. Shortly before the confluence, the Fratnikbach takes on a brook on the left that rises in the Nolzer Wald .
