Ergi Kırkın (born January 27, 1999 in Ankara ) is a Turkish tennis player .

Career

Kırkın already played tennis successfully on the ITF Junior Tour, so he took part in all Junior Grand Slam tournaments from 2016 to 2017. In 2016 at Wimbledon , he achieved his best result in doubles with the quarter-finals. In the junior world rankings, rank 20 was his highest position in early 2017.

From 2015 the Turk played his first professional tournaments and almost exclusively competes in tournaments in his home country, Turkey. Until 2017 he only played on the third-rate ITF Future Tour and only reached the semi-finals on this. In 2015 in Trnava he also took part in the qualification of a challenger , the higher endowed tournament category. In doubles he was even in the main field at the same tournament. In 2017 he was able to place himself in the world rankings for the first time . In 2018 he got a wildcard for the single qualification as well as the double field of the Antalya Open . While he had no chance in doubles with Koray Kırcı , he managed a respectable success in singles against Radu Albot from Moldova. He defeated the top 100 player in three sets, but failed in the decisive match for the main draw. In August 2018, Kırkın reached his first future final. In the same month he was in singles with rank 653 and in doubles with rank 868 each on a new career high.
