Erhard Altenbrandt

Erhard Altenbrandt (* 1939 in Offenbach am Main ) is a German Aikido pioneer.

Life

Altenbrandt was born in Offenbach in 1939. His original profession is a mechanical engineer. After learning Aikido from Yoshimasa Kimura , Gerd Wischnewski and André Nocquet, among others , he founded the German Aikido Association (DAB) in 1977 with Rolf Brand . Altenbrandt was Vice President of the DAB until January 16, 2001. In addition, he was the founder and first chairman of the Aikido Association Baden-Württemberg (1979 to 2001). Due to internal disputes, several Aikido associations founded the Aikido Union Germany (AUD) in 2002 . Altenbrandt resigned his offices in the DAB and held the office of 1st chairman of the Aikido-Union Baden-Württemberg eV until 2005 . During the same period he was chairman of the technical commission of the Aikido-Union Germany.
