Erhard Apeltauer

Erhard Apeltauer (* 1952 / 1953 ) is a former German basketball player .

career

In 1970, Apeltauer took part in the European Championship in Athens with the German national junior team and scored an average of 6.3 points per mission during the tournament.

He played from the 1971/72 season with the Hamburg TB in the basketball league . In April 1974 he was in the final for the DBB Cup with Hamburg . Apeltauer scored 14 points in the game, but lost a lot against TuS 04 Leverkusen. He later played with MTV Wolfenbüttel in the Bundesliga. and in the European Cup. In 1976 he was second with the team in the championship and in the cup competition. Between 1975 and 1977 he played 24 full international matches for the German national team.

In 1978 Apeltauer moved from Wolfenbüttel to SSC Göttingen, with whom he became German champion in 1980. He then moved to the Giants Osnabrück, with whom he was promoted to the 2nd basketball league in 1982 and to the first division in 1983 and for which he also played in the European Cup. During his career he came in the top German league to a total of 2344 points scored.

As a coach, he led the BG 74 Göttingen in 1988 for promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga.

Professionally he worked as a commercial teacher.
