Erhard Bauer (stonemason)

Erhard Bauer , also Eberhard Bauer von Aistel (Eichstadt, Aichstätt), (* 15th century in Eichstätt , † 1493 in Wunsiedel ) was a stonemason and city architect from Eger.

Erhard Bauer ("Steinmetz von Aistel") was from 1463 in the service of the city of Eger . From 1472 he was significantly involved in the construction of the three-aisled basilica of St. Nicholas in Eger. In 1476 King Vladislav II summoned him to Prague , but Erhard Bauer stayed in Eger. In 1489, the City Council of Leipzig tried to poach Erhard Bauer to build the St. Thomas Church.
