Palmelo is a small Brazilian political municipality in the state of Goiás in the mesoregion of South Goiás and in the microregion Pires do Rio . It is located south-southwest of the Brazilian capital Brasília and southeast of the capital Goiânia .

Geographical location

Palmelo lies between the municipalities of Pires do Rio in the east and Santa Cruz de Goiás in the west. The distance to the capital Goiânia is 128 km on the GO-020 ( BR-352 ) via Cristianópolis and Bela Vista de Goiás .
