Alto Horizonte , officially Portuguese Município de Alto Horizonte , is a Brazilian political municipality in the state of Goiás . It is located northwest of the Brazilian capital Brasília and 341 km north of the capital Goiânia . As of July 1, 2018, the population was estimated at 6,218 inhabitants, who live in a community area of ​​around 503.8 km². It ranks 158th out of 246 parishes in the state.

The municipality of São Sebastião is also located in the municipality.

In Alto Horizonte, it is mainly industry that is economically significant. Agriculture is livestock operated and the cultivation of rice , cassava and corn . With a gross national product per capita of R $ 102,799 in 2007, Alta Horizonte was first in the state of Goiás for the first time , due to gold mining and the production of copper sulphides by the Canadian mining company Yamana Gold .
