Urutaí , officially Portuguese Município de Urutaí , is a small Brazilian political municipality in the state of Goiás . It is located south-southwest of the Brazilian capital Brasília and southeast of the capital Goiânia .

The distance to the capital Goiânia is 163 km on the GO-020 ( BR-352 ) via Pires do Rio, Cristianópolis and Bela Vista de Goiás .

From 1989 to 2017 it was assigned to the geostatistical regions of the Pires do Rio microregion in the South Goiás mesoregion .

history

The place received city rights on December 15, 1947. Before he belonged to the Munizip Ipameri and was a district there. The official spelling of the name was Uruthaí until 1948 .
