Location of Alexânia in the state of Goiás

Alexânia is a Brazilian political municipality in the state of Goiás in the mesoregion East Goiás and in the microregion Entorno de Brasília . It is located southwest of the Brazilian capital Brasília and 118 km northeast of the capital Goiânia .

Geographical location

Alexânia borders

• in the north at Corumbá de Goiás
• to the east on Santo Antônio do Descoberto
• in the south to Luziânia and Silvânia
• in the southwest at Abadiânia

The Corumbá IV reservoir extends along the southwestern border . The eastern border of the municipal area is formed by its left tributary Rio Areias . The western border is the Rio do Ouro , which rises in the north at 1260 m near the border with Cocalzinho de Goiás . This flows into the Riberão Congonhas as a left tributary , which flows into it at the western end of the Corumbá IV reservoir.
