Itarumã is a Brazilian political community in the state of Goiás in the mesoregion South Goiás and in the micro-region Quirinópolis . It is located southwest of the Brazilian capital Brasília and the capital of the state of Goiânia . Itarumã is located in the extreme southwest of Goiás on a plateau of 474  m with a flat topography .

Other localities in the municipality are Cachoeirinha, Olaria do Angico, São Jerônimo and Três Barras.

Itajá borders on the following municipalities:

• to the north at Serranópolis and Jataí
• to the east with Caçu
• in the southeast to the Ilha Solteira reservoir , Limeira do Oeste - ( MG )
• in the southwest at Itajá
• in the northwest at Aporé

The municipality lies between the border rivers Rio Corrente and Rio Verde . Both flow from northwest to southeast and flow as right tributaries into the Rio Paranaíba or its Ilha Solteira reservoir, which forms the southeastern municipal boundary to the state of Minas Gerais .
