Guapo is a Brazilian political community and small town in the state of Goiás .

It is located southwest of the Brazilian capital Brasília and the capital Goiânia in the Mesoregion Central Goiás and in the Microregion Goiânia . Guapó is 41 km away from the capital and belongs to the Goiânia metropolitan area .

The name Guapó is of indigenous origin from the Tupi language and means "root eater".
