Americano do Brasil , officially Portuguese Município de Americano do Brasil , is a small Brazilian political municipality in the state of Goiás . It is located west-southwest of the Brazilian capital Brasília and west-northwest of the capital Goiânia . As of July 1, 2019, the population was estimated at 6111 inhabitants who live in a community area of ​​around 133.6 km².

The municipality is named after the doctor and writer Antônio Americano do Brasil (1892–1932).
