Jesúpolis , officially Portuguese Município de Jesúpolis , German Jesusstadt , is a small political municipality in the Brazilian state of Goiás with village character. The population was 2300 at the 2010 census, the population was estimated at 2474 on July 1, 2018, who live in a community area of around 122.5 km² and are called Jesupolinos.
geography
It is located west of the Brazilian capital Brasília and northeast of the capital Goiânia .
Jesúpolis borders the parishes:
- to the west and north to Jaraguá
- to the east on São Francisco de Goiás
- in the south to Petrolina de Goiás and Santa Rosa de Goiás
The place can be reached via the state road GO-529 .

history
After a referendum on December 9, 1990 about a desired independence, the state law Lei Estadual no. 11.401 of January 16, 1991 decided to establish the company. After the necessary elections on October 3, 1992 for the mayor's office and future city councilors, the population was able to emancipate itself on January 1, 1993. The first city prefect was Irajá Filipe de Araújo.
City administration
In the local elections in Brazil in 2016 , Wygnerley Justino de Morais des Partido Humanista da Solidariedade (PHS) was elected city prefect for the term from 2017 to 2020. The legislature rests with a seven-member city council.
