Rio Quente , officially Portuguese Município de Rio Quente , is a Brazilian political municipality in the state of Goiás . It is located south-south-west of the Brazilian capital Brasília and 135 km south-south-east of the capital Goiânia .

The population was estimated as of July 1, 2019 at 4493 inhabitants, who live on a municipality area of ​​around 243.5 km² and are called Rio-Quentenser ( rio-quentenses ). It ranks 197th out of the state's 246 municipalities.
