Itapirapuã is a Brazilian municipality with almost 8,000 inhabitants in the state of Goiás in the mesoregion of Northwest Goiás and in the microregion of Rio Vermelho . It is located west of the Brazilian capital Brasília and northwest of the capital Goiânia .
Itapirapuã is a large cattle producer.
Geographical location
Itapirapuã has municipal boundaries in
- North with Britânia and Matrinchã
- East with Goiás Velho
- South with Novo Brasil
- West with Jussara and Santa Fé de Goiás
The municipality is located on the banks of the Rio Itapirapuã, a right tributary of the Rio Vermelho , and on the Brazilian federal highway BR-070 . To the north, the Goian state road GO-070 branches off to Aruanã , which leads from Goiânia via Itaberaí and Goiás Velho to Itapirapuâ from the east.
Climate, geography and vegetation
The climate is typically tropical with high summer temperatures around 30 ° C and heavy rainfall. In winter there is drought and drought. The vegetation is characterized by forest and savannah .
