Valparaíso de Goiás , officially Portuguese Município de Valparaíso de Goiás , is a Brazilian political municipality and city in the state of Goiás . The population was estimated as of July 1, 2019 at 168,468 inhabitants, who live in a small municipality area of around 61 km² and are called Valparaisenser ( valparaisenses ). It ranks 7th out of the state's 246 municipalities.

Geographical location

The community is located 45 kilometers south of the Brazilian capital Brasília via the BR-040 federal road and 191 kilometers east-northeast of the capital Goiânia via the BR-060 .

Valparaíso de Goiás borders in the north on the federal district , in the east on Cidade Ocidental , in the south on Luziânia and in the west on Novo Gama .

It is part of the developing and metropolitan region Região Integrada de Desenvolvimento do Distrito Federal e Entorno .
