São Domingos is in the Midwest ( Região Central Oeste ) of Brazil lying political community and small town in the state of Goiás in the mesoregion East Goiás and in the micro-region Vão do Paranã . It is located north-northwest of the Brazilian capital Brasília and northwest of the capital Goiânia .
Geographical location
São Domingos is located in the northeast of Goiás in the central Brazilian mountains at 677 meters and on the right side of the river that gives the region its name, the Rio Paranã . The eastern border of the municipality runs along the watershed of the Serra Geral de Goiás mountain range , which forms the border between the Rio São Francisco and Rio Tocantins river systems .

economy
The economy of Sâo Domingos is largely based on agriculture. The local power plant generates 95% of the electrical energy for the region. The many waterfalls, caves and grottoes of the Serra Geral de Goiás as well as the colonial architecture attract many tourists to São Domingos.
