The 1,070 km long Rio Paranaíba is the right source river of the Paraná in Brazil ( South America ).

The river has its source in the west of the state of Minas Gerais in the Serra da Mata da Corda . From there it flows mainly in a westerly direction through several large reservoirs . Finally, it unites in the Ilha Solteira reservoir , another very large reservoir, with the Rio Grande to the Paraná .
