The Entorno de Brasília microregion , also called Entorno do Distrito Federal , is located in the mid-west ( Região Central-Oeste ) of Brazil . It is a region in the Brazilian state of Goiás determined by the IBGE (Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística) for statistical purposes . It belongs to the East Goiás mesoregion and comprises 20 communities.
Geographical location
The Entorno de Brasília microregion almost completely encloses the Brasília federal district and borders on the microregions (mesoregions):
- In the north at Porangatu and Chapada dos Veadeiros ( North Goiás )
- In the northeast at Vão do Paranã ( East Goiás )
- To the east at Unaí ( Noroeste de Minas , MG )
- In the southeast Paracatu (Noroeste de Minas, MG)
- In the southwest on Catalão and Pires do Rio (both in South Goiás )
- To the west on Anápolis and the Ceres microregion (both in central Goiás )
