Erhard Brepohl

Erhard Brepohl (born February 23, 1930 in Arnstadt ) is a German goldsmith and author .

After graduating from school, he learned the goldsmith's trade. He completed his apprenticeship with a journeyman's examination. In 1953 he passed the master craftsman examination. He then studied for three years to become a vocational school teacher. He completed another degree in general mechanical engineering in Warnemünde until 1969 . He studied at the University of Industrial Design in Halle, Burg Giebichenstein in Halle (Saale) until 1974. He graduated with a degree in designer. In 1985 he received his doctorate with a thesis on Theophilus Presbyter , goldsmithing in the field of history of technology at the Freiberg Bergakademie in Saxony. He was then awarded the title of professor .

He is a well-known author of books on goldsmithing.
