Erhard Nehring

Erhard Nehring (born February 20, 1892 in Lissen (East Prussia), † February 20, 1982 ) was a German physician and bacteriologist .

Live and act

Nehring studied medicine at the Albertus University in Königsberg . In the summer semester of 1913 he became a member of the Germania fraternity . In the First World War he was awarded the Iron Cross, 2nd class. In 1920 he received his doctorate with his dissertation Casuistic Contributions to the Knowledge of Actinomycosis during the World War . He then carried out research at the Hygiene Institute at Königsberg University.

From 1950 to 1957 Nehring was head of the Institute for Water, Soil and Air Hygiene in Berlin-Dahlem . When the institute he headed was merged with other institutes to form the Federal Health Office in 1952, he became First Director at the Federal Health Office.
