Erhardt Bleyer

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Erhardt Bleyer (also Erhard Bleyer ; * around 1900 , † after 1960 ) was a German hammer thrower and wrestler .

Bleyer started for the ASV Hof and was the first Hofer athlete to become German champion . In 1926, 1929 and 1930 he won the German hammer throw championships. He was also runner-up three times and set four national records. It should be noted that from 1929 to 1933 there were two German championships for hammer throwers. Both the German Lawn Power Sports and Tug of War Association and the German Sports Authority for Athletics , the forerunner of the German Athletics Association , each claimed the discipline for themselves. In the course of the synchronization in 1933, sovereignty over the championships was transferred to the Reichsfachamt Athletics , in which the Athletics Association was absorbed. Bleyer achieved the aforementioned successes as a lawn athlete .

He was also successful as a wrestler at the state level. After 1936 he had to give up the active sport due to injury, but remained with his club until the mid-1960s as the technical director of the wrestling department.
