Eric Glod (born November 16, 1993 ) is a Luxembourg table tennis player . He is currently in second place on the Luxembourg table tennis rankings, behind the former German national player Zoltan Fejer-Konnerth . In 2018 he became Luxembourg national champion in singles for the first time. In doubles with Christian Kill, he had already won the title in 2017.
He qualified with the national team for the European Championship in Nantes in 2019 . In the decisive game they won 3-2 against Finland after falling 2-1 back. He played with Gilles Michely, Christian Kill and Marc Dielisen.
At the European Championships they lost both games in the group. In the first game against England they lost 1-3. He lost in the fourth game in the 5 set against Samuel Walker. In the second game against Belarus they clearly lost 0-3. This made them last in the group.
Eric Glod took part in two tournaments of the Challenge Series in October, namely the Polish Open and Belarus Open. At the Polish Open he finished second in the group and did not make it into the main field. At the beginning he won against Stefan Konstadinovid from Serbia (WR: 1074) with 3-1. Then he lost to the American Kai Zhang (WR: 237) 0-3. At the Belarus Open he was also second in the group. At the beginning he won against the Belarusian Pavel Daunarovich (WR: 1277) with 3-0. After that he had to admit defeat to the 15-year-old Japanese Hiroto Shinozuka (WR: 540) with 1-3.
