Eric Stokloßa

Eric Stokloßa (* 1979 in Dresden ) is a German opera singer ( tenor ).

Life

Eric Stokloßa received his training at the Dresden Kreuzchor and at the Carl-Maria von Weber Academy of Music in Dresden. In 2007 he sang Aljeja in Leoš Janáček'sFrom the House of the Dead ” at the Wiener Festwochen under the direction of Patrice Chéreau . He then sang the same role at the Holland Festival and the Festival in Aix-en-Provence, and in 2008 in a new production directed by David Pountney at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo . He was also seen in this role at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City (2009) and at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan (2010). In January 2009 he made his debut at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan in the role of Janek in Janáček's “ The Makropulos Affair ” in a production by Luca Ronconi .

He performs regularly as a concert singer, especially in his hometown of Dresden. He sings regularly at performances in the Dresden Frauenkirche and has been a guest soloist at the Dresden Music Festival , the Dresden Chamber Choir and the Dresden Kreuzchor.
