Erich Caspar (born January 10, 1879 in Bellmannsdorf , Lauban district ; † February 6, 1956 in Bremen ) was a German carpenter and Bremen politician ( SPD ).

biography

Caspar was the son of a domestic servant. He attended elementary school and learned the trade of a carpenter. Until 1919 he worked as a carpenter. From 1919 to 1933 he was an employee of the carpenters' association in Bremen. From 1945 to 1955 employee of the trade union in Bremen.

politics

Caspar became a member of the union and the SPD and was a temporary member of the USPD from 1917 to 1922 . From 1902 to 1909 he was a member of the board and from 1909 to 1933 chairman of the branch of the carpenters' association in Bremen.

After the First World War he was a member of the Bremen National Assembly in 1919/1920 and a member of the Bremen citizenship from 1920 to 1921 and from 1924 to 1933 . From 1921 to 1928 he was a board member and from 1928 to 1933 chairman of the AOK Bremen . In 1927 he became a board member of the local committee of the General German Trade Union Federation (ADGB) and a member of the supervisory board of the social construction companies in Bremen.

After the Second World War he was a board member of the IG Bau-Steine-Erden trade union in Bremen from 1945 to 1955 and chairman of the AOK Bremen representative assembly from 1953 to 1956.
