Erich Folz , nickname "Fips" (born November 26, 1921 in Kaiserslautern , † 1994 ), was a German football player .

Life

Erich Folz was born in Kaiserslautern . He was active as a striker in the first team of 1. FC Kaiserslautern from 1942 to 1943 and from 1947 to 1954 . In 1951 and 1953 he became German champions with the Lauterern. Although he did not play in the final, he played his part in the successes in 1951 with three appearances in the entire finals and in 1953 with three goals scored in the league season. In a magazine published by the club in 1953, he is described as a “technically adept player with good adaptability”, who, however, would “unfortunately be misunderstood”. Folz played a total of 57 league games for FCK and scored 14 goals.

He died in 1994 at the age of 72.

His brother Karl Heinz (* 1918 in Kaiserslautern; missing from 1945) also played for FCK. Therefore Erich Folz was z. B. also referred to as "Folz II" in publications.
