He laid the foundation stone for this as early as 1948. The company based in Rahden (Minden-Lübbecke district) now operates under the name Heinzig Metalltechnik GmbH and is a leading company in the supplier sector.

life and work

Heinzig had learned and practiced the profession of engineer. In 1948 he began developing and designing the first fully automatic potato planter . He presented this to the public near Hamburg in 1949, at the forerunner of today's Agritechnica . Further patents followed in the field of agricultural technology and the office furniture industry. At the beginning of the 1960s, the company turned more and more into a leading supplier in the metal sector. Today Heinzig Metalltechnik GmbH is a service provider in the sheet metal and profile sector. The company employs around 100 people in production and administration.

Inventions and patents

The fully automatic potato planting machine was part of his first invention (publication number: DE000000895842B). Further inventions followed such as the electric vaporizer for odorous substances or insecticides (AT000000197543B), or cake servers (DE000001823453U).

The innovation relates to a cake server. The known cake servers have the difficulty of bringing larger pieces of cake or cake onto the plate after they have been picked up in the pick-up position. Most of the time, the piece of cake or cake falls over or a fork or spoon has to be used to remove the piece of cake from the cake server.

family

Erich Heinzig was in his second marriage to Hildegard Heinzig, geb. Bresel married. She headed the company until November 1, 2005. Erich Heinzig has two children:

  • Gisela Heinzig
  • Günter Heinzig († 1981)

Since November 1st, 2005 the company has been run by his grandson Mario Heinzig in the third generation.
