Erich Henke

Erich Henke (born May 7, 1931 in Cologne ) is a German civil servant, building and housing manager and politician ( SPD ).

After attending school, Henke embarked on a civil service career. He was employed by the Cologne City Council from 1948 to 1969 and was most recently promoted to Oberamtmann. In 1974 he took over the management of Grund und Boden GmbH.

Henke joined the SPD in 1957 and has been chairman of the SPD local branch in Cologne-Sülz / Klettenberg since 1960 . In 1968 he was elected deputy chairman of the Cologne Social Democrats and in 1972 chairman of the SPD sub-district of Cologne. He was a member of the German Bundestag from 1969 to 1980 . During this time he was also a member of the mediation committee between the Bundestag and Bundesrat. In parliament he represented the constituency of Cologne IV . From 1970 to 1976 Henke was chairman of the SPD parliamentary group for spatial planning, construction and urban development. From 1976 to 1980 he was deputy chairman of the Bundestag committee for regional planning, building and urban development.
