Erich Kästner Society
The Erich Kästner Society e. V. is a literary society that has dedicated itself to maintaining the work of Erich Kästner and his memory. In addition, it supports performances, publications, exhibitions, readings and lectures that, in Kästner's sense, are committed to an enlightened, time-critical spirit that is oriented towards youth. It is domiciled at Blutenburg Castle in Munich , at the headquarters of the International Youth Library . The Erich Kästner Society was founded in 1975, one year after Kästner's death, by several writers, publicists and literary friends, including Peter de Mendelssohn and Hilde Spiel .
