Erich Lohrmann

Erich Lohrmann (born May 25, 1931 in Esslingen am Neckar ) is a German experimental physicist who deals with elementary particle physics.

Lohrmann studied in Stuttgart with Erwin Schopper and in Bern with Fritz Houtermans with his doctorate in Stuttgart in 1956 on processes of very high energy in cosmic rays. As a post-doctoral student he was at the University of Frankfurt and the University of Chicago and from 1961 at DESY . In 1976 he became a professor at the University of Hamburg and from 1976 to 1978 he was at CERN and was on the CERN board of directors during this time.
