Erich Parthey (born January 26, 1909 in Einsiedel ; † January 12, 1995 ibid) was an Erzgebirge folk artist, whose main work, the Erzgebirge Village Fair, is on display in the Museum of Mining Folk Art in Schneeberg .

Parthey lived in Einsiedel and in his spare time was busy building mechanically operated homeland and Christmas mountains. His first work was a horse riding school (horse carousel), which he built in 1922 during his school days. In 1927 he had completed his flying riding school. From 1936 he created the Erzgebirge village fair as a machine factory worker . Before it was even completed, Erich Parthey's house was completely destroyed during the bombing raids on Chemnitz on March 5, 1945. Before that, however, he had managed to save his main work. In 1982 it was bought by the Schneeberger Museum and is only put into operation there on special occasions.

From 1946 to 1948 he worked as a teacher at the industrial school in Chemnitz. He then worked in the local machine factory.

In Chemnitz a street was named after Erich Parthey.
