Erich Schaber

Erich Schaber (* 1946 in Eberschwang ) is an Austrian art educator , sculptor , painter , graphic artist and designer . He describes himself as the first and only bicycle graphic artist in the world.

Live and act

Schaber is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna , where he studied in the master classes of Sergius Pauser and Walter Eckert . Since 1972 he has been employed as an art teacher for the state school board for Lower Austria . He is a member of the Innviertel Artists Guild.

Among other things, he led workshop seminars for stone carving in Loretto (1988 to 1991) and in Ottenschlag Castle (1992 to 1997).

From 1970 he worked as a sculptor and produced sculptures made of sandstone, marble and granite mainly for outdoors and small metal sculptures for indoors. He can refer to a number of solo and group exhibitions, mainly in Vienna and the Austrian federal states.

From then on he developed a drawing technique in which a ridden artificial bike is used as a track applicator. This technology is unique in the world, which is why he was able to present it several times in front of domestic and foreign TV cameras. Since 1993 he has worked as a designer for furniture and lighting fixtures as well as interior design with constructions and installations.
