Erich Schlenker

Erich Schlenker (born April 26, 1904 in Schlaitdorf , † November 13, 1961 in Stuttgart ) was a German art historian , writer , poet, editor and tourism director.

Life

Schlenker was an art historian at the silver goods factory Peter Bruckmann & Söhne , later he was a personal advisor to the Bruckmann council and member of the editorial board of the Stuttgarter Neue Tagblatt and the Fellbacher Rundschau. From 1940 to 1945 he held the office of traffic director for the city of Stuttgart. He was the founder of the Kunsthöfles in Bad Cannstatt and managing director of the Baden-Württemberg Artists Association. In 1960 he became the traffic director of the city of Heidelberg and executive board member of the North Baden Transport Association.

Erich Schlenker has shaped the cultural life of Fellbach in a special way. As the initiator of the Fellbach working group after the Second World War, the predecessor of the adult education center, as a co-founder and co-designer of the Fellbach Autumn in 1948, as the editor of the Fellbacher Rundschau, as the author of the historical Fellbach game, the Fellbach song and the Fellbach purrs, as Stimulator for exhibitions and cultural activities.
