Erich Schneider (officer)
Erich Schneider (born August 12, 1894 in Biedenkopf , † August 3, 1980 in Wiesbaden ) was a German officer , most recently lieutenant general in World War II .
Life
Schneider served as an officer in the First World War . After the war he switched to the Reichswehr and worked as a commander and general staff officer in various units. During this time he also studied physics at the Technical University in Stuttgart and graduated in 1928 with an engineering degree. Afterwards he also worked in the Army Weapons Office. In the Wehrmacht he led the 4th Panzer Division and the 14th Infantry Division as commander during World War II .
