Erich Windhab

Erich Josef Windhab (born May 6, 1956 in Karlsruhe ) is a German engineer for food technology .

Life

Windhab studied chemical engineering and process engineering at the University of Karlsruhe (TH), where he received his doctorate in 1985 at the faculty for chemical engineering under Hans Buggisch .

On behalf of the Lower Saxony state government and financed by the Volkswagen Foundation, Windhab founded the German Institute for Food Technology (DIL) in Quakenbrück in 1985 , and was promoted to Vice President in 1987. From 1988 to 1992 Windhab taught rheology at the Weihenstephan Research Center for Brewing and Food Quality at the Technical University of Munich . He turned down a call to the chair in Munich and opted for ETH Zurich .

Since April 1992 he has been a full professor for food process engineering at the Institute for Food and Nutritional Sciences at ETH Zurich.
