Erik Hunker

Erik Hunker (born February 6, 1960 in Glauchau ) is a German politician.

From 1985 to 1988, Hunker was a teacher for sports and geography at the Polytechnic Oberschule in Berlstedt near Weimar and later in Biere . From 1990 until he left the party in 2004, he was a member of the SPD . From 1990 to 1994 Hunker was mayor of the municipality of Biere , later from 1993 to 2002 head of the joint administrative office of VGem Bördeland . From 2002 to June 30, 2007 he was District Administrator of the district Schoenebeck . In spring 2007, Hunker stood as the FDP candidate for the district administrator of the new Salzlandkreis , but suffered a defeat in the first ballot. However, since his lawsuit before the state constitutional court was successful, the new Salzlandkreis must continue to employ him in a similar position. Since July 1, 2007 he has been a member of the newly formed district council.
