The commemorative medal for the campaign in Rio Negro and Patagonia was an award of the country Argentina , which was created by law on October 27, 1881. They were awarded to all participants in the Argentine campaign in Rio Negro and Patagonia in accordance with the military hierarchy of the entrusted .

Classification

  • 1st class ( gold medal for commanders)
  • II class ( silver medal for officers)
  • III. Class ( copper medal for teams)

Appearance and wearing style

The gold, silver or copper-colored medal shows the coat of arms of Argentina and the inscription of the campaign on its obverse . The reverse shows the Argentine sun in the middle, surrounded by the inscription: DIE NATION DEM SÜDHEERE 1881 . The medal of all classes is worn on the upper left side of the chest.
