Erland and The Carnival are a British folk rock band.
history
The band was formed in London and made their first recordings in 2008. The head of the band is the multi-instrumentalist Simon Tong ( Blur , The Good, the Bad & the Queen ). The band's sound is strongly based on the psychedelic rock of the 1960s and 1970s mixed with circus and folk elements.
Erland and The Carnival achieved national fame in 2010 with their self-titled debut album and the single You Don't Have to Be Lonely . In 2011 the second album, Nightingale , was released, which is characterized by significantly darker melodies and psychedelic synth parts.
