The Erna Gaulke was handed over to the owner of the Swedish Rederi A / B Björnö, Bleket ( Sweden ) in 1919 . After an eventful history, it was used in the evacuation of East Prussia in 1945 . On April 3, 1945 the Erna Gaulke was sunk by Hawker Typhoons of the 83rd and 84th Group of the 2nd TAF .
The wreck still lies on the position of 54 ° 31 '43 " N , 11 ° 2' 9" O coordinates: 54 ° 31 '43 " N , 11 ° 2' 9" O . It is located in an area of approx. 14 hectares, which is still marked on the nautical charts with “Unclean ammunition”.
