The Sir Ernest Oppenheimer Bridge ( English Sir Ernest Oppenheimer Bridge ), mostly just Ernest Oppenheimer Bridge , is a road bridge over the Orange River between Oranjemund in Namibia and Alexander Bay in South Africa . It was named after Sir Ernest Oppenheimer and is about 950 meters long.
The bridge is around ten kilometers from the mouth of the Oranje in the Atlantic Ocean , making it the westernmost bridge over the river. It mainly serves the local cross-border traffic.
