Max-Eugen Kemper

Max-Eugen Kemper (born May 23, 1938 in Neheim or Hüsten ) is a German Catholic theologian.

Life

He attended the Franz-Stock-Gymnasium and the Jugenddorf-Christopherus-Schule Oberurff . After graduating from high school , he studied theology in Paderborn and from 1960 to 1967 philosophy and theology at the Gregoriana , where he obtained a licentiate in philosophy in 1963 and theology in 1967. He was ordained a priest on October 10, 1966 in Sant'Ignazio di Loyola in Campo Marzio .

In 1967 he became chaplain at St. Walburga in Werl ; from 1967 to 1970 he was chaplain in Delbrück . In 1970 he was given leave of absence to study religious education in Munich, where he was also a chaplain at the Holy Blood Church . From 1973 to 1976 he was a research assistant in the subject Educational Science at the University of Munich , where he in 1977 with the theme word - situation - Sacrament - A new approach to sacramental theology and its relevance to practical theology to Dr. theol. received his doctorate . In 1976 he returned to the Archdiocese of Paderborn .

In 1981 he was appointed head of the school and education department of the Archdiocese of Paderborn and a clergyman . From 1982 to 1989 he was a speaker at the Central Education Office of the German Bishops' Conference . From 1989 to 2003 he was released for civil service in the Foreign Office as clergyman counselor, 1st class at the German embassy at the Holy See in Rome ; he was promoted to Counselor First Class on January 1, 1992. Pope John Paul II appointed him Honorary Prelate of His Holiness on April 30, 1990 . On July 9, 2001, Federal President Johannes Rau awarded him the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class.

Bishop Heinz Josef Algermissen appointed him Honorary Professor for Didactics of Christian Art at the Fulda Faculty of Theology in July 2002 for his scientific merits . On February 23, 2003 he was appointed coadjutor of the cathedral chapter of St. Peter's Basilica .
