Ernest Goldberger

Ernest Goldberger (* 1931 in Basel as Ernst Goldberger ; † 2009 in Israel ) was a Swiss- Israeli social scientist , entrepreneur and author .

His parents were Hungarian Jews who immigrated to Switzerland in 1926. Ernest Goldberger received his doctorate in social sciences under Edgar Salin at the University of Basel in 1956 and later founded and managed a consulting company for export-oriented small and medium-sized companies .

From 1991 he lived in Israel . He described his experiences there, which were extremely disappointing for him, in his book The Soul of Israel , published in 2004, and at the same time gave an analysis of how he experienced it, historical undesirable developments and the crisis of the state that he identified.

Ernest Goldberger was the father of the orthodox rabbi and rector of the Noam Jewish School , Zurich, Michael Goldberger (1961–2012).
