from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Harry Ernest Palmer (born January to March 1901 in London-St. Pancras , United Kingdom ; † March 12, 1964 in Ealing , London) was a British cameraman .

Live and act

Harry Ernest Palmer received his professional training in the 1920s and began his career as head cameraman at the beginning of the following decade, almost at the same time as the sound film era in England. Palmer's first employer was British International Pictures . For the next three decades, Palmer was allowed to shoot almost exclusively B-films , with Thorold Dickinson's propaganda film The Next of Kin , his most famous production in the middle of World War II . In the mid-1940s he was behind the camera in two late works with Richard Tauber ( Hochzeitswalzer, The Lisbon Story ). In higher-quality films like Die Sterne look down (chief camera: Mutz Greenbaum ) and In love with a queen (chief camera: Arthur Grant ) he was either not mentioned in the opening credits or had to be content with the second-unit camera.
